Software Architect

• Designing and overseeing the overall software architecture to ensure alignment with research objectives and seamless integration with existing systems.
• Ensuring that the newly developed software architecture aligns with the broader enterprise architecture, coordinating closely with the IT architecture team to facilitate integration.
• Collaborating with researchers and key stakeholders to understand software requirements, translating them into detailed technical specifications for the development team.
• Identifying and evaluating appropriate technologies and tools for software solutions, with a focus on scalability, security, and compatibility with current systems;
• Developing prototypes or proof-of-concept models to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate core functionalities to stakeholders;
• Working in close partnership with departments such as Engineering, IT, and Projects to ensure smooth integration with hardware components; 
• Ensuring that software systems adhere to industry standards, security protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements;
• Designing scalable software architecture and optimizing performance to meet the demands of complex research initiatives. Contributing to the validation and verification of software systems and applications; 
• Creating detailed documentation for the software architecture, design decisions, and related processes.

For an international organisation within the area of Middelburg we are looking for a Software Architect. Within this role you will be working in the Research, Development and Innovations team of this company. You will be designing and leading the development of innovative software Solutions. You will test, implement and optimize the newest technologies like, robotics, digital twins and IoT. Your solutions will be used to optimize internal processes related to the design, engineering and manufacturing of the unique products of this company.

On a daily basis you will be desiging software architecture that is in alignment with the companies goals and you make sure that it integrates perfectly with other systems, You identity and research new technologies and tools for software solutions, you develop prototypes and you make sure that all the software systems are in compliance with industry and government standards and security protocols.

• A Bachelor Degree in IT or another relevant study with strong IT components;
• You have at least 3 years of relevant working experience;
• You have good experience in designing systems and software;
• You are proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks like C++, C# and Python;
• You have a deep understanding of software design patterns;
• You have knowledge of different architectural styles like Microservices and Monlithic;
• You have a good understanding of security best practices and you are able to design secure systems;
• You have experience in integrating systems and third party services;
• You have a professional working level within the English language and preferably also the Dutch language (Written & Verbal).
• A safety screening and Certificate of Good Conduct are part of the screening process.

• A monthly salary between the €5200- €6.250 based on an 40 hour week (depends on your experience);
• Holiday allowance: 8,33% of your gross year salary
• Holiday days: 38 days;
• Traveling compensation: 23 cent/kilometer (maximum of € 300,- per month);
• Healthcare coverage: € 50,- per month ;
